At the age of 40 I was diagnosed with Breast Cancer. It was a shock and a surprise that the small lump that I felt in the shower, was actually cancer.
I had fitness goals, and a plan to celebrate them with a photoshoot. I quickly realized that my body is going to change and I wondered why I was waiting to be a certain shape or size to celebrate myself. Four days after my diagnosis, I went ahead with an epic photoshoot to memorialize my body.
After a series of tests, including mammogram, biopsy and MRI, it was determined that I would need a mastectomy. Two weeks after diagnosis, I had the surgery.
Recovery from a mastectomy isn't easy and for weeks I didn’t think that I would ever lift my arm again. But through stretches and exercises, I regained my original strength and even more. I now feel better in a bathing suit with my strong body, even with a missing breast, than I did before my fitness journey.
Through my recovery, I discovered the importance of exercise oncology. Exercise will help prevent the reoccurrence of many cancers and reduce the side effects of the medication, which can be years long. It is my goal to bring awareness to the importance of exercise to beat disease and to create a community of support.

My mission is to help others feel strong and healthy in their bodies. As a body transformation coach, I will guide you through eating the foods you love, exercising efficiently and implementing healthy habits to help you have a balanced lifestyle. Ultimately, you will be making changes to beat disease by controlling what you can. Through supportive community we will have hope and inspiration to move us forward with our health goals.
